Minder" over "Baltimore, MD, they were in business from 1860 to 1902, they also made uniforms. The guard, grip, and pommel cap have a slight wiggle. The grip shows little wear, it is 95% complete, the twisted wire is complete and barely loose.The double clamshell has the typical eagle with flags on it on one side and on the folding side is a shield with crossed cannons, swords, and rifle. Lion face on the quillion. The etched blade has heavily darkened through the years making the etchings harder to see, it is straight, unsharpened, no nicks along the edges, very light scattered age spots throughout, and the tip is sharp. The scabbard is solid with no dents, scattered age spots throughout with light surface rust, and the screws for the drag are missing but it is still tightly attached. Length of the blade measures 29. (9/16" wide x 3/16" thick). Length of the sword is 35 1/4", and overall in the scabbard it is 39 1/4".
