Just out of a local smoke free house is this. Original antique colorized whole plate tintype photograph of a Civil War officer.

We are not experts but we were told that the sitter may be a Marine officer. It depicts what we believe is a civil war officer in his dress uniform with a plumed shako hat. He has a sword by his side, he has a US buckle, and there are stripes visible on his right sleeve. The tintype is mounted in a period oval walnut frame with an oval mat.

With the frame it measures about 13 3/8 inches high and about 11 1/4 inches wide. The image is in excellent condition, the mat has an area near the bottom where it looks like it had something glued on it, perhaps it identified the soldier.

The frame is in good condition with only minor losses to its finish. See photos as they are part of the description. Would make a nice addition to any collection and is guaranteed as described.
