US Civil War Model 1850 Non-Regulation Officers Sword made by Tiffany & Co. The ricasso is marked Tiffany & Co. " over "New York" and on the reverse side it is marked "P. The steel guard has floral scrolls and has darkened with age.
The rayskin grip is 98% complete. It has what appears to be a twisted brass wire and also a twisted steel wire, both are complete and mostly tight with only a little movement.
The etched blade is straight, has a few age spots throughout, not been sharpened, the tip is sharp, no pitting, the etchings are clean and very visible, but there is some surface rust on each side for about the first 5 by the ricasso end. The scabbard has an evenly darkened surface with 3 dings all at the drag end, there is a "1" stamped into the drag, I couldn't add that picture also but I will send it to you in a message if you'd like to see it.
