U. S. CIVIL War Officer Presentation Calvary Sword And Scabbard Blade Etching

This US Calvary sword is marked'PRESENTED TO LIET. DARNELL BY HIS COMPANY' on the top gold metal scabbard. On the other side of the scabbard is another printed item but I cannot read it plainly. I believe one of the words is'Philadelpia'.

During the war many of the swords or scabbards have a patriotic message and/or patriotic message etched on the blade. This stainless steel blade also has design etchings of military eagle, pluribus Unum and insignia on one side and on the other side is'US' and other etched insignias. The handle is made up of a wire wrapped hilt and a half basket guard with medal pommel.
