Unique Hand-Painted Civil War US Navy Ironclad USS Monitor Miniature Mug

ARTIFACT: This is a Civil War era miniature mug for the United States Navy Ironclad USS Monitor. The front of the mug shows a hand-painted eagle between union flags and reads MONITOR BEATS ALL in gilt script. The bottom of the mug appears to bear the initials of the decorator W. SIZE: Approximately 1-3/8 in height and 1-13/16 in width (including handle) and 1-5/16 in diameter.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CONDITION: 6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The mug has some small spots of paint missing around the lip, some small spots of discoloration, a surface hairline crack by the handle, and roughness along the bottom edge.
