US Civil War Model 1840 Horstmann Musicians Sword. The ricasso is marked "orstmann's", over "Phila". The underside of the crossguard is marked "27". The brass grip is tight but the guard is a bit loose.

Is straight, unsharpened although the tip is sharp, and there are small age spots with very light surface rust scattered throughout.
