US Civil War Model 1860 Staff & Field Presentation Sword with Scabbard. " over "New York, they typically made GAR swords. The guard, grip, and pommel cap have a slight wiggle. The grip shows little wear, mainly only on the seams but it is complete, the twisted wire is also complete and tight. The double clamshell has the typical eagle with flags on it on one side and on the folding side is a shield with crossed cannons, swords, and rifle.

The knuckle guard is slightly bent. The etched blade is straight, unsharpened, no nicks along the edges, scattered age spots throughout with some light surface rust, and the tip is sharp. The scabbard is solid with 1 minor dent, scattered age spots throughout with light surface rust, and the drag has a star on one side. Length of the blade measures 30" 1/8, length of the sword is 36 1/4", and overall in the scabbard it is 37 1/4.
