1861 F A & Co Union Historical Flask Civil War Cannon Flag Cannonballs Pint Aqua

ITEM: Antique Civil War historic Union flask made in 1861 by Fahnestock Albree & Co of Pittsburgh to help promote the war effort and cause of the Union Army when the Civil War broke out. McKearin lists this historical flask as GXII-40. It features UNION boldly embossed on front above clasped hands and F. A & Co boldly embossed in an oval with a 13 star arch, wreaths and shield. The back has a boldly embossed American Flag with Cannon and Cannonballs.

Hand blown in bimal mold with early half circle hinge mold seam base. Appled ring on neck and has a deep, rich aqua color. SIZE: Pint and approximately 7 5/8 tall. CONDITION: Free of chips, cracks or glass sickness with normal wear on the underside from age. Normal glass imperfections associated with early blown glass including a few air bubbles and straw marks.
