Condition for age as shown. 1864 CIVIL WAR LETTER & COVER 83RD OVI HAMILTON OHIO FREE STATE SPRING CAMPAIGN. This is from the heirs of Private edwin m. Imes of the 83rd ovi. IMES enlisted in the 83rd ovi april 22, 1862.

IMES served in companies g and i under capt. Gary of seven mile ohio. The 26 year old private was mustered out in july 1865 in galveston, texas, as a member of company i. He died in 1915, a resident of s. In hamilton ohio and is buried in greenwood cemetery hamilton.
