Original 19th-century Civil War battlefield map titled Battlefield in front of Franklin, Tenn. , published in 1874 by the American Photo Lithographic Company (Osborne's Process) under authority of the U. This is an original period lithograph, not a reproduction. Printed on thinner 19th-century paper stock, consistent with government-issued battlefield maps of the era.

19 x 28.5 inches (image area, not including margins). Depicts the Battle of Franklin (November 30, 1864), showing troop positions, fortifications, terrain, and the street layout of Franklin, Tennessee.

The battle is remembered for its catastrophic Confederate losses during Lt. John Bell Hood's assault. No major losses or modern repairs observed - approx. Please review all photos carefully - they are part of the description. This map was found rolled inside the wall of a home in Delaware, along with other Civil War-era maps. Fresh to market and previously undisplayed. I have another example from the same find that will be listed separately.
