A rare engraving drawn by Thomas Nast and published in the Dec. 26, 1863 issue of Harper's Weekly measuring approximately 15 1/8 x 21 5/8 inches as a complete piece behind protective plastic. Nast was the originator of our modern concept of Santa Claus, and he drew most of his classic Santa scenes for Harper's Christmas issues. His Civil War era Christmas scenes are among his best and most historically significant works.
