Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Authentic 1863 U. Civil War Light Cavalry Sword with Original Scabbard, made by the Ames Sword Co. This Has a Brass Basket Cross Guard with Wire Wrapped Leather Covered Wood Handle in Good Condition!!! The Sword Blade is in Good Original Condition, but Markings are Worn Down.

There are Remnants of the 1863 Date and U. Markings on One Side, as Pictured. R Inspector's Mark is on the Pommel Cap, See Photos. This is the Marking for David Rice who Inspected Swords for the Ames Sword Company in 1863. This Sword is in Overall Very Good Original Condition with a Wonderful Aged Patina, As Pictured!!! 40 1/2" Long with a 34 1/2" Blade. The Total Length of the Sword in Scabbard is 42 1/2. The Scabbard is the Original Steel Metal Scabbard with Two Loops. It is in Good Original Condition with Traces of the Inspectors mark on the Drag, as Pictured.

The Sword Slides Nicely In and Out of the Scabbard! The Blade is Clean, with Normal wear From Age. This Sword is Exactly as I found it in the Estate. Don't pass this one up, This is a Rare Historic Sword!!!! This will make a stunning addition to any Collection!
