Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Authentic U. Civil War M1850 Foot Officer's Sword with Etched Blade. This Has an Ornate Gold Gilded Decorative Basket Cross Guard with Wire Wrapped Shark Skin Handle.

36 1/8" Long with a 30 1/2" Blade. The Blade is Etched on One Side U.

The Other Side is Etched E. Pluribus Unum with Patriotic Designs. 1 1/8 Wide at the Base. I did not see a Maker's mark, Its Most Likely a U. Ames Sword or Horstmann German Import. This includes Part of the Original Leather and Brass Scabbard. The Bottom Section is Missing, As Pictured. This is an Authentic Battle Used Sword, as Evident by the Nicks on the Blade Edge.
