Antique US M1860 Presentation Staff & Field Officer Ames Sword. This is a Rare Antique'Post Civil War' US Military Officer's Presentation Sword with Scabbard and original knot. This is a Model 1860 US Military Staff and Field Officer's Sword M1860 with Ornate Patriotic Design! The Sword Has an Ornate Engraved Blade With "US" and Patriotic Eagle. Culbertson marked on the blade. The Sword Has an Oval Patriotic Gold Gilt Cross Guard with Engraving on the Underside, and Patriotic Eagle On The Top in High Relief. The Sword Handle is a Wire Wrapped Sharkskin Grip with Patriotic Eagle Pommel. The Scabbard is a Steel Metal Scabbard with Brass Accents. The Reverse ricasso has the makers mark Henderson Ames Co.

The famous Civil War firm of Ames merged with Henderson just before this sword was made. The quality of the workmanship on this sword is excellent. It is complete with is steel scabbard nickle plated with gold gilt brass mounts also in great condition.
