Beautiful Civil War Era Tintype in Case Woman

Beautiful Civil War Era Tintype in Case - Woman. Not certain if this is a Confederate or Union wife but was possibly photographed to be taken into battle by her husband for remembrance.

The glass-covered photograph is mounted in an embossed leather case with a latch closure. A red velvet embossed pad on the inner side of the case protects the photo. The image is surrounded in gilt design which is also around the edge of the case.

The hinge of the case is intact. Dimensions are approximately 3 3/4 inches by 3 1/4 inches. Beautiful condition - still hinged - no warpage.
