The 11th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry was a notable Connecticut Civil War unit, best remembered for the Assault on Burnside Bridge, Battle of Antietam where it suffered huge losses including it's Colonel Henry Kingsbury. The 11th also suffered heavy losses in the 1864 Virginia Campaign. An original Roster of Officers of the 11th Connecticut Volunteers for September, 1865, naming 262officers present, w remarks & service info and sgd by Captain Erastus Blackmar as commander of the regiment, also sdg by Lt Charles H Winter as Adjutant.

Captain Blackmar, a native of Woodstock, CT who rose from corporal to officer rank, and was WIA at Drewry's Bluff, Virginia.. Lt Winter of Stafford, CT also rose from the ranks- his image is widely reprinted as a fine example of a Union Army corporal. 1p 16 x 11 ink.

(Note- 2 of the officers listed under arrest were dismissed from the service late 1865, but Colonel Randall was honorably discharged). General Orders and other imprints. All items are unconditionally guaranteed to be authentic and in the condition as described.
