The type of field glasses were used by the soldiers from both the north and south during the war between the states. (a known supplier of optics to both the union and confederates during the war between the states). These are NOT the commonly seen post war' opra glasses. These have a gutta-percha adjusting wheel. It has sturdy suspension loops on the sides for use with a shoulder / neck sling.
(not seen on civilian field glasses). The blackened brass tubes have a pleasing patina. The leather coverings are in good condition. Just slightly scuffed with a few tiny gouges..
