Civil War Artillerist Telescope 2 Draw With Sunshade Field Glass. 3' Expanded Lens
Absolutely gorgeous top condition Civil War telescope. Likely for an Artillerist given the large size when closed, and 3' size telescoped out. This telescope features a 2 draw with sunshade. The sliding lens covers probably date it roughly from the 1850s through the 1860s. As far as I can tell the lenses appear beautiful and uncracked. I carefully took it apart to check the various lenses and found no issues/added pictures. No damage as far as I can see. It m not sure how to get it to focus but no better to mess with it further to avoid damage. No issues seen at all aside from some wear marks to the leather protective portion as shown. Would make a great gift. Likely one of the best, period authentic glass/lens pieces you'll ever wish you didn't miss out on. I've listed a tremendous amount of new auctions which are but a small percentage of what I have coming up/need to list. Please check out those auctions and watch for new ones! Which include Civil War era bullet molds, reloading tools, powder measures, cased revolver accessories, Colt tools, US & CS bullets, leather accoutrements, pre Civil War buttons, relic lots, buckles & plates, Civil War/Indian Wars rifle/carbine tools, leather belts and accoutrements from Civil War through Spanish American War, and all other manner of unusual, rare, and high end relics!
