Civil War Carved Watch Fob & Chain Masonic Symbols & U. S. Flags

CIVIL WAR WATCH FOB & CHAIN; shield-shaped fob skillfully carved from bone; one side depicts Masonic symbols & flowers all outlined with red wax; other side depicts stand of American flags. Very fine condition; nice mellow patina with minor nicks and scratches consistent with age and use. No provenance, but absolutely original and doubtless carved and carried by a Federal soldier.

An excellent personal item that displays beautifully. Note: almost certainly carved from beef bone, which was abundant; certainly not from any protected species.
