Offered is this Civil War era fine cased revolver / rifle accoutrement. This specifically is a small flathead gun screw tool with an inverted head. I've only rarely come across these types of tools and they are often chipped at the tip notches from misuse or wear. This tip is perfectly intact as shown. It has a fine handle that I believe is horn, with the standard brass adornment as shown (not quite black not quite brown but leaning black colored handle).
This attractive tool also has NO often hairline cracks from where the brass was affixed. The handle has age appropriate wear and usage marks as shown to include a single small chip at the back (pictured). This tool would make a fine addition to your US cased set, English revolvers of the era (Adams, Tranter, Kerr, French pinfire, etc), and especially high end Civil War era English cased rifles & shotguns. Note of course please that the cased sets shown are not included and are referenced only to show US and English examples with these type of fine accoutrements present. Please check out the multiple auctions I've listed which includes a number of high end Civil War gun tool estate lots, antique powder measures, antique wad punches, Civil War bullet molds/moulds, all sorts of flasks, bayonets, rare pre Civil War to CW leather accoutrements, bullets, buckles, and other rare affordable through high end items!
