Wonderful grouping of a Signed CDV of Corporal Samuel Ireton of the 138th Pennsylvania Vols who was taken prisoner and Died in the Andersonville stockade. Accompanied by copies of his personal records from the National Archives, some pictured here. Along with data on the Regiment and their activities in a Binder. Enlisted on 8/26/1862 as a Private. On 8/26/1862 he mustered into "I" Co. He died of disease as POW on 10/10/1864 at Andersonville, GA. POW (date and place not stated). Buried: Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, GA. Date of Death listed as 10/10/1864.
