Civil War CSA Button and Case

This is a Confederate CSA button with the Superior Quality backmark in non-dug condition. These coat buttons are well known to have been made in England and then run through the blockade to be used by CS troops.

A company found a bunch of these in a warehouse in Bermuda in the 1960s and marketed them in the little display cases that you see here. Most of these have been taken apart and the display cases thrown away while the button itself went into a collection. The Certificate of Authenticity that came with the display explains the "story" behind the buttons.

The COA you see, and included in this listing, is a COPY made from an original. These are not particularly rare buttons, but these cases are becoming rare.
