Surgeons Sterilizing Burner Cauterizing Medical Field Sterilizer. This small portable burner would heat your operating tools using the field during the Civil War (1860). You put your knife or surgical tool on the two mounts and heat it up to sterilize it. Could also heat the tip to cauterize wounds. Would fill it with some kind of oil.

A wick would sit in the open part to be lit. This one is missing its wick. It's in really nice condition.
