David V Derickson was commissioned Captain of the 150th Pennsylvania Bucktails in 1862 and he and his men of Company K were assigned as personal bodyguards to President Abraham Lincoln, both at the White House and at the Soldiers Home. At that time rumor suggested that Derickson was on physically intimate terms with Lincoln and slept with him when Mary Lincoln was away.

The 1p 8 x 11 list is signed by Captain Derickson as Provost Marshal, and also signed by the Draft Commissioner & the Exemption Surgeon. Minor edge wear, age stains, Overall VG.
