Now there's no date on this chair so I can't guarantee that's exactly the Civil War I'm going by the tag. But I believe it is, but that's my opinion. The only other markings I could find on there is on the back of the chair, check out all pictures 6, 7,8 this is not exact it looks like it says, BARBARO CHAIR MFG. I couldn't make out the first word that's just a guess, take a look at the pictures. I got this from an old military collector.
Now this item was found on the east coast of the United States. This is exactly the way I found it, I did not try to clean it up, I did not try to restore it, or change it in any way, this is exactly the way I found it, which i think it's an awesome item. This CHAIR is extremely well made very solid wood, and I believe in nice condition, I could find no cracks in the wood which is fantastic.
This item is approximately 31 inches high opened up and approximately 16 inches wide. Now the wood on here is really nice and very well made and the canvas, or wool or whatever you want to call this material is still in good shape, it does have some stains on the bottom and some things like that, but that's all to be expected for as old as this item is.. This is definitely the only one that I have. And I hope this goes to a great Civil War collector, that can enjoy this as much as I did. Please make sure and take a look at ALL the pictures, and if you have any questions at all or need more pictures feel free to contact me. Thank you so much for looking and good luck.
