An Original City of Rochester, Certificate of Membership given by the City of Rochester, New York to Michael McMullen on August 27, 1858 certifying that McMullen was appointed by the City of Rochester a Member of Fire Company No. Seven and entitles him to all the privileges granted by the City Charter. The Certificate is signed by Rochester City Clerk C.

Simmons with blank reverse ink inscribed M. Comes with service info for McMullen who enlisted in 1862 as Lieutenant, 105th New York Volunteers and was taken prisoner, spending time at Belle Island Prison Camp, Richmond, Virginia until he was paroled and mustered out March, 1863. Ptd/ink with edge wear, age stains, archival repair on back fold, Overall VG. General Orders and other imprints.
