Captain Philip H Goode, a resident of Glenwood, Iowa served the entire war, first with the 15th Iowa Volunteers and was wounded in action along with nearly of his 200 comrades of the 15th Iowa at the Battle of Shiloh. He re-upped in 1863 as Commander of the 4th Iowa Artillery.
