Civil War Tintype David Cassell 20th Pennsylvania Cavalry died at Andersonville
The Civil War tintype featuring David Cassell of the 20th Pennsylvania Cavalry captures the historical significance and impact of the conflict. This original piece, made in the United States, offers a glimpse into the militaria of the Civil War era, preserving the memory of a fallen soldier and serving as a tangible reminder of the sacrifices made during this tumultuous period in American history. Housed in a unique double 9th Plate case that is in great shape, Cassell is pictured with a female companion.

He was captured at Frederick, Maryland on July 10, 1864. He died of disease at the infamous Andersonville Prison on February 6, 1865 and is buried at the prison cemetery in grave number 12599. This came with family records of the Long family of whom, one was a member of the 20th Pennsylvania Cavalry. Those family records will also accompany the image.
