CONFEDERATE Battle of BULL RUN #2 Manassas VA R. Lee Civil War 1862 Newspaper. Offered is an original, historic, & collectible old newspaper: DAILY RICHMOND EXAMINER, Virginia, Sept. Second Battle of Bull Run # 2 From the capital of the Confederacy. Not just a newspaper from the Confederate States, but from the capital of the Confederacy. The front page has: "From Maryland" which tells of the advance of the Confederate army across the Potomac into Maryland (see photos). Keep in mind this was just one week before the Battle of Antietam in Maryland.

The front page also has: "The Northern Press on the Late Battles" being the Second Battle of Bull Run (see photos). There is also:'The Excitement in the North" "Additional From the North" "The Yankee Account of the Evacuation of Fredericksburg--Destruction of Property--Escape of Negroes... " "The Revolution in Kentucky--Our Army Before Cincinnati--Demand For the Surrender of The City--Surrender of Newport & Covington & more.

The back page has a very lengthy editorial touching on several topics relating to the Civil War, beginning. Coming events cast their shadows before two huge rumours which now engage the mind of the multitude... One story is that General Smith has appeared before Cincinnati & demanded its surrender in four hours; the other, that the Lincoln government removes its stores from Baltimore, that the revolution has been begun in that city... The back page also has much from the "Confederate Congress".
