I send the Flat unloaded & ready to be brought back tomorrow by Steamer - there are some tents in the bottom of the Flat which please have care taken of & return with the Flat. As soon as you can replace the corn it will be desirable as our stock is now very low. Georgetown played a significant role in the Civil War, primarily due to its location as a major rice producing area and its proximity to the coast. Georgetown also became a site of conflict with Confederate fortifications like Battery White and camps like Lookout and Waccamaw built nearby. Vertical fold, even toning, in period brown ink.
