Two ALSs from a correspondent George to Miss Cora Clark, 7 ½ x 10 ½, and 5 x 7 ½, from Nashville, Tennessee. One is dated Feby 11th, 1862 and the second letter has no date. I have concluded to wait and see what the army intend doing. If there is to be a fight here we will learn that. Armstrong says he intends staying until further news.
I will be out this evening or tomorrow morning and we can then determine what to do. If anything takes place I will advise you of it...Second letter: I joined a company this evening to be armed with Pikes. We are not compelled to leave the city. We are intended for Home Protection.
The future at present looks dark but I still hope the day is not far distant when we will be as one and perfectly happy. If we have to wait a little longer than we have contemplated rest assured that all my thought are for you... Our goal is to please every customer.
