Identified Civil War Dog Tag Union 18th NY Cavalry Regiment Charles Wright GAR

For sale is a lot of identified Civil War veteran memorabilia along with a Civil War era dog tag. The items belonged to Charles Wright of the New York 18th Cavalry Regiment, known as the Cornish Light Cavalry. Wright belonged to two different companies during the war. The 18th Cavalry saw action including the Red River and defense of New Orleans campaigns as well during the defense of Washington DC and the New York City draft riots. Items included in this sale are.

Brass Civil War era "dog tag engraved "C. Measures 1-1/2 inches in diameter. A CDV style picture of an older Charles Wright with his name on the reverse. Photo was taken at Pine & Bell in Troy, New York. A bronze pinback from the 1892 Buffalo NY Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) National Encampment.

A brass/bronze pinback with Chas. It also appears to be from the 1892 Buffalo GAR National Encampment.

A souvenir eagle pinback with ribbon and medal from the 45th annual 1911 Rochester NY GAR encampment. The medal features a miniature of the Union Army Civil War Veteran's medal and some really fine print etched on the back.

The ribbon is now separated from the top portion of the pinback. A large Knights of Pythias medal, another popular fraternal organization. I bought these items as a lot years ago and it has been part of my large Civil War and Grand Army of the Republic collection. I'm beginning to sell off an eclectic collection of stuff accumulated over the years. Please let me know if you have any questions.
