Identified Civil War Original Shirt Worn By Capt. George Fordham Linnen US
This is an original civil war era officer's shirt, owned and worn by Captain George E. Fordham Company E, 3rd NY infantry. In the listing it said Fordham was in company D, but the records show that he was actually in company E. This shirt is 100percent original. It is made of linen and in great condition for it's age. There are two small separation spots that are difficult to see but I tried to show in the pictures. The original buttons are also present. The shirt does show moderate staining or spots as shown in pictures but does not detract from the overall look at all. This shirt displays very well and is a fine example of civil war cloth that was actually worn during the civil war.
