John Hobson Sheffield antique civil war folding Bowie Knife
Very rare clip point folding Bowie Knife marked "John B Hobson". He worked in Sheffield since 1855. Knife is 9 3/4 inch long opend and 5 1/2 inch closed, blade is 4 1/2 inch long and handle is 5 1/2 inch long. Blade is engraved and etched.
Handle is real bone with 5 rivets. 2 rivets are an older replacement. Bone handle has a little repair.
Handle has a silver inlay and guard and pommel are in german silver. The bone handle is engraved from the late owner with his name Tesmaker and the year 1859. It is possible to polish it away.
