July 29 1865 Letter from William M. General Hospital, Hampton, VA -- Actually two letters, one to his mother and one to his sister.

I do not have the postal envelope. Your very kind letter was just received ten O'clock A. Everything is going along nicely at present. The letter you speak of for Bert I suppose you know its content by this time.

How do you like the picture. It is a different on from any you have received yet.

My Dear Sister, Lou, I hope you may succeed in your application Aug 10. And if you want any aid pecuniarily I believe I have about 40 or 50 dollars at Jacobs which is entirely at your disposal. You may use it as you see fit in the execution of your plan and God grant you may succeed in your endeavor to free yourself from your present trouble. If J could only get there to be with you.
