It measures 74.25 inches by 51 inches. There is a small tear in the small against the stretcher on the right side if the painting is facing away form the viewer. THE SCENE IS THE BATTLE OF HAMPTON ROADS AND THE IRONSIDES MONITOR AND MERRIMACK FIRST BATTLE DURING THE CIVIL WAR. ON THE BACK THE RIGHT AND LEFT TOP CORNERS SHOW SOME TEARS ON THE FRAME. Looking at it today there is a small tear in the small against the stretcher on the right side if the painting is facing away form the viewer.
