This unique and original Civil War document is marked at the top - Muster and Descriptive Roll of a Detachment of United States Veteran Volunteers Battery A of First Regiment of Penna. Artillery Commanded by Rob't.

The second line reads - Called into Service of the United States by the President from the 26th day of February 1864 date of the muster term of 3 years only? The roll has 20 names of this units soldiers along with their town or county from which they come, occupations, date of 26th Feb.

Next is a physical description, clothing account, date of first muster 1861 their names given again, Company A, Town (mostly all from Doylestown). Remarks, and State of PA. The bottom states that the information is certified and is correct and is signed by James R.

The right side of this document as an attached accounting sheet, pay amounts and is actually signed by each soldier. This folded piece is in good condition, the front has two old tape repairs at the bottom folds. The back has tape reinforcing the folds and edges. It measures about 30" long and is 10 1/2" tall.
