Nice Battle Fatigue U. S CIVIL War Cavalry Sword Model 1860

This is an example of a well worn and battle weary U. Cavalry Saber Sword, Model 1860 which is dated 1863. It is mounted with a blade that measures 35 inches in length which although is now in rough condition, the weak stamp EMERSON & SILVER TRENTON N. " can still be made out on one side and the date "U. 1863 on the other side. The brass guard reflects battle fatigue with the branches bent but not cracked, and remaining tight with some portions of the original leather wrapping of the hilt now missing.

The metal scabbard has lost one carrying ring and shows to have been cleaned throughout the years reflecting old pitting scars, but does remain in good serviceable condition.
