I have included a variety of photos for you. Blade is bright, with only a few relatively small rust spots which can be cleaned. No maker's name on the throat of the blade.
Brass hilt has nice aged brass patina. ALL the twisted brass wire remains in place. About 60-70% of the leather on the grip remains, with the original ribbed wooden grip underneath.
Complete with original metal scabbard. Appears to have been originally painted black. Some light rust shows in spots. Amazing to find one of these with the scabbard at all, so anything is a plus. Could be cleaned up and refurbished, but also looks pretty good as it is. MAKES A VERY NICE DECORATOR OVER A DOOR OR FIREPLACE OR ELSEWHERE IN A MAN CAVE OR FAMILY ROOM.
As a 4 1/2" brass drag on the end and also a 3 1/2" brass throat with belt hook. Nice to find a complete early sword like this in any kind of condition. IT HAS A NICE LOOK. REALLY NICE AGED BRASS PATINA TO THE HILT AND KNUCKLE GUARD AND MAKES A GREAT DECORATOR or addition to a collection.
FULL LENGTH BLADE, MEASURING about 28 long. Entire sword measures about 35 1/2 overall. Would make a great decorator or addition to ANY SWORD OR CIVIL WAR COLLECTION OR DISPLAY. Even for a non-sword or non-Civil War collector, it still is a GREAT EARLY ANTIQUE MILITARY DECORATOR FOR ANYONE!!
