Original Civil War Massachusetts infantry frock coat, camp dug! This is a very, very rare artifact which was excavated from a trash pit of the 25. Massachusetts Infantry in New Bern, NC in the 1970s. The digger, Walter Duke Humphrey (deceased) prized this as one of the best artifacts he ever discovered while relic hunting. It was found in an area of very sandy, well drained soil along with several bottles and camp artifacts.
