A Beautiful example of impressive proportions, in its finely detailed brass furniture with cast in high relief and then chiseled foliage decorations, depicting a spectacular American Eagle to the guard with 7-stars over its head, shark skin grip retaining its original brass wire with few loose coils. Mounted with a powerful large-fullered blade of German manufacture, exhibiting finest quality etched decorations of floral scrolls, war-trophies and Patriotic motives, maker marked at ricasso. In its blued iron scabbard with very ornate brass mounts en suite. Solid and overall intact on this Large and very attractive pre-Civil War era saber of rather scarce type.
