A Rare American Mid 1800s Southern Amputation Set, Rees Cincinnati, Complete Two knives and the rongeurs are marked "Rees". All the other instruments are unsigned but appear original to the set, with the exception of the smallest scalpel. This set could be as early as the 1850s which means it may very-well have been used during the Civil War. The set has been used and still has remnants of past surgical procedures on some of the instruments and within the case. A very uncommon southern manufactured American Surgical set.
