There are records it was ordered by officer's in the PHG, Philadelphia Home Guard during the Civil War, according to O'Donnell. The two halves are original to each other. The buckle measures 2-3/4" long by 2" wide and is raised about 3/8. This buckle still has great detail, and has not been cleaned... Just the way you want them!
