Nice Large Antique Leather Padded GEM SIZE TINTYPE Photo Album, Tiny Civil War Period Pictures. DESCRIPTION: This is a VERY NICE EXAMPLE of a classic original large Antebellum/Civil War/Victorian period gem size tintype photo album.

Gem size albums were often used by children for friends or school mates, etc. Sort of a 1850 version of the modern school yearbook.

This one has about half of the photo openings open toward the back, but still a lot of pictures. Either a nice album to add to your collection of photos/albums, or can be used to hold your album-less photos! NICE BROWN LEATHER EMBOSSED PATTERN ON THE FRONT & BACK COVERS, with gold trimmed pages and trim.
