This is another nice non-dug Confederate Virginia button being offered. The face has the Virginia symbolism of Virtus slaying the tyrant. It is a coat size, two-part button, measuring 22.8mm. The back mark has the standup shank and the backmark. This button was examined by one of the leading authorities on Civil War buttons in the country and stated that it is one of the rarer Virginia buttons.

He also feels it should be priced much higher than what I have it listed for here. It is in beautiful condition with a fantastic, untouched patina. I have been dealing with Civil War artifacts since the 1980s and have seven books published with Civil War topics. This button is 100% authentic and would be very difficult to upgrade.
