RARE ORIGINAL VINTAGE CIVIL WAR ERA 36 STAR NEVADA STATE FLAG 4'x8' BY HORSTMAN

Here is your chance to add to your collection of American Flags. With 36 hand sewn (ON BOTH SIDES) stars for the state of Nevada. THIS FLAG HAS AN UNUSUAL STAR PATTERN OF 7-7-8-7-7. Statehood was official in October, 1864, and the star was officially added on July 4, 1865. This flag lasted only 2 years until July 4, 1867, when Nebraska was admitted to the Union. Horstman, Philadelphia stenciled on the head of the flag and a name is written just below the stencil 8 Feet Long. Some overall wear and a period repair on first white stripe at the top, close to the upper corner. Also a hole punched on the head close to the bottom grommet.
