Scarce Original 1846 BATTY PEACE Brass Powder Flask (1 of 1000) Pre Civil War

Only 1000 of these were made on the last year of the Ames contract 1846 ultra rare. This is a very well kept brass charger "Peace" flask by N. Ames featuring an eagle over circle of 26 stars with pair of clasped hands, marked on top N.

Ames/1846 with inspector's mark WAT William A. Thornton, and the side with inspector's mark P N. The body of this flask is molded with standard motives with the sides fitted with triangular suspension rings and has its original hangers.

You never find these with the flask. The body shows one small dent to lower front, some wear to relief on back side, and has it original un-messed with patina. Ames measures 23.5 cm (9.25 inches) x 9.5 cm (3.74 inches) and weighs 376 grams.
