Here we have a fantastic example of the 1870s, post Civil War era U. The amazing thing with this one is that there are no moth holes AND the chin strap and both buttons are still intact. Also, the interior sweatband is still intact and firmly sewn in! There is no maker mark printed on the liner inside but there seems to be a ghost of one that used to be there.
