Model 1860 cavalry sword, which was widely used during the American Civil War. Brass hilt with a cast eagle and stars on the counter-guard. Two foliate decorated branches connecting to the knuckle bow and shield. Black leather-covered grip with twisted brass wire wrapping.
Curved single-edge blade with a false edge at the tip. Etched foliate scroll, eagle, and US decoration on the blade.
The ricasso is marked with "HENRY BOKER/SOLINGEN". The sword comes with an iron scabbard featuring two suspension rings. Blade length: 34 1/2 inches ; overall length: 40 5/8 inches.
