US Civil War PDL-Tiffany Model 1840 Heavy Cavalry Wristbreaker Sword & Scabbard

U S Civil War Model 1840 Tiffany Wristbreaker Heavy Cavalry Officers Sword with Scabbard. The ricasso is marked "Tiffany & Co" over "New York" and on the reverse is P. L inside a circle made of dots, which stands for. Luneschloss of Solingen, Germany, they imported blades for Tiffany. The guard is made of iron, it does have some light rust scattered throughout creating a darkened patina.

The grip is worn down to the wood, all of the leather and. Twisted wire wrap are gone except for a couple very small pieces poking out from under the pommel cap. The blade has a darkened patina that matches the guard with light age spots throughout. Has a few small nicks towards the lower half, has. Been sharpened and is sharp, also the tip is sharp, the last 8 towards the tip has a barely noticeable bend.

The scabbard is solid, three dents, and has light surface rust throughout. The leather washer is intact. Length of the blade is 35 1/8" (1 3/16" wide and 3/8" thick), the sword is 41 3/8", and in the scabbard it is 43. Check out my other Civil War Items!
